“Dolce Aqua” suits are handmade with love and care in the USA. We use luxurious European fabrics and exquisite trims to create a high quality product. Many of the suits are extremely delicate like fine lingerie and must be cared for in the same manner to prolong the life of your suit.
While ALL of the suits can be worn in pool or ocean water, they are not intended for strenuous physical water activity or long periods of time in heavily chlorinated water. After use, all swimwear should be hand washed in cold water with very mild soap (such as specialty lingerie detergent). Lie flat or hang to dry. DO NOT USE WOOLITE!
Please keep in mind that sun, tanning/bronzing lotions, tinted moisturizers, oils, harsh chemicals and minerals, salt water, chlorine, and extreme heat naturally put wear on any swimsuit and can turn it yellow; this is not a manufacturing defect. To prevent wear as much as possible, be careful to follow the care instructions below:
*All swimwear should be cared for in the same manner as fine lingerie. Hand wash only in cold water using very mild soap, shampoo or specialty lingerie detergent. Wash newer suits by themselves until all excess dye washes out – bleeding of the dye is normal and will stop after a few washes. Do not machine wash or dry clean. Do not soak, do not wring, and do not use hot water.
* Always rinse your suit immediately in clean cold water after wearing it in salt or chlorinated water to avoid damage to hardware finishes.
*Do not use Woolite, bleach, laundry detergent. Use stain remover at your own risk..
* Lie flat or hang to dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Do not use a dryer or blow dryer as they may cause damage to the fabric, hardware and inner plastic components.
* Avoid contact with rough surfaces that may disrupt the filaments on the surface of the fabric.
*Hot tubs, swimming pools and prolonged periods of sun exposure will cause increased wear to your suit. Dark and bright colors will fade quicker and is not considered a manufacturers defect.
* Suntan oils may stain and can be harmful to the fabric of your suit.
